The Knoxville News Sentinel reports on Chris Gardner’s May 10 appearance at the Volunteer Ministry Center’s “Carry the Torch Knoxville” luncheon at the Knoxville Convention Center. Agency CEO Ginny Weatherstone said her hope was that those who heard Gardner’s talk got “a new understanding that homelessness can happen to anybody and that homeless people have talents, skills and capabilities that sometimes get buried under the hopelessness … but like Chris they can work their way out.”
