Thanks for Visiting Me at Borders
I’d like to thank everyone who attended the book signing in Chicago on Wednesday, as well as all of you who’ve attended my other recent book signings, and the folks from Borders who graciously invited me to appear. I’m always inspired by the perceptive questions of those who attend!

When will you be coming to Minneapolis?
Hello,
Do you have any mentorship programs in place. My story is similiar to yours and I’m in the middle of still pursuing my purpose. I’ve not had the blessing of having like minded people in my life and am not fully understood for the risk I take when it comes to my life as well as the future of my son. I take risk that many feel are irresponsible but I see a bigger picture. I know what the other side looks like if I can just stay the course.
If you ever decide to have any mentorship programs I’d be your first applicant.
You’re truly inspiring!
Are you comming to europe anything? Would really wanna hear you speak! Starting on your second book now. God bless you.

Chris -
Love ya man.. your style, confidence, and personality is fantastic.
I have ONE question:
“Where can I get those dress shirts with those large collars? What are they called? Who makes them?”
Thanks!!
Matt
Matt - Chris Gardner’s shirts are made by Albert Karroll and his team at Richard Bennett Custom Tailors: rbtailors.com
Chris do you know that in the Declaration of Indipendence in particulary where there is “the pursuit of happiness” was suggested to Jefferson by an italian friend named “Phil the Gardener” an italian intellectual from Prato. His real name was Filippo Mazzei (1730 - 1816).
Dear Chris,
My soul has been vibrating high getting to know all the good energy you radiate around you: feet on the ground but head in the sky.
I wish to write to you as I would like to turn one dream and desire into reality, from Europe to Brazil where I spent some of my past.
I wish to create a new school, where we wioll teach a new way of thinking, reading the soul and elevate our dreams but go for them!
I want to succeed as I will be able to prove to others that this is possible, I want to HELP others more than I do today.
I will come back to you if you could give me a chance to express my views,
A big hug and respect for all you do from Europe,
Michel
Chris, another comment and I will stop here today: you have just started to spell this wave to us, please keep on going and we will help you do so, we need to take this further to this new university of life that I have in mind, I will get back to this very soon, god blesses you and your loved ones.
Michel
Dear Chris,
Another day, just wishing you good for the project you lead, you have your friends across the Altantic in this pilgrimage,
We wish you all all of us moving moutains a good day
refering to this Latin expression for today: “goutta cauat ladipem” the drop of water digs a hole in the stone…

Hello Mr. Gardner,
I just saw the movie tonight for the first time and I really loved your tenacity. No matter what, you kept striving. Thank you! I try to draw strength wherever I can find it. Why not you too. I am currently going to college online after 20 years or so when I first started. I allowed life to get in the way. Now I am back and determined to finish. Not to get a job or start a career or anything, though I plan to do that also, but to finish what I started. I choose to finish and never again to let me get in the way of me. I could blame people all day long and some of the excuses would be valid; however, when I look in the mirror the only person looking back at me is me. Thank you again for your inspiration and for sharing your story. I checked your schedule to see if you would be in the San Diego, California area, as I would surely like to see you speak, but I could not find any dates coming up soon. I will continue to check and if I can afford it, I will be there. Keep your inspiring spirit glowing and shining bright. I hope to see and meet you in the future. You never know.

Dear Mr. Gardner,
I wanted to personally thank you for your passion. I am a sales person working my way up in the insurance industry in Chicago. I have five children to support and while that motivates me, I have used your movie to keep me inspired. When life becomes difficult, I watch your movie and I see I can prevail no matter what is surrounding me. I am almost finished reading “Start Where you Are” and will also use this as a motivational tool. I’d love to see you speak or tour your company at some point in time if that is ever a possibility in Chicago. God bless you and your family and thank you again.
Chris,
While I made such a fool of myself when I ran into you today at POPEYE’S CHICKEN. I was embarrassed. I forgot to ask you for your advice on reaching my 17 year old son who struggles in high school. Your life story inspired made me go back to school where I am a student at Roosevelt University.I also work full time. Everytime I get fed up and tired, I refer back to your book. I blame myself everyday for not being able to assist my son more and provide him with the knowledge he so desperately needs to become a successful african american man like yourself. It was truly an honor to meet you. I am encouraging my son to read your book in hopes that he will develop a blueprint for himself. My ultimate fear is that he will be dependent upon others and not obtain his american dream.
Chris,
I enjoyed your talk tonight at Penn State. I could relate to your stories and hope to speak with you again soon. You have helped me more than you know even before others found out about your life.
Dear Mr. Gardner, you are so inspiring! I just love the way you have taken responsibly for the homeless. What a brave man you are! I am the babygirl in my family of 14 kids. Same mother and father.I saw 1st hand what a real man does when the going gets tough.Although we are all grown ,and my dear parents have gone to be with the Lord. I can’t help but see that same man’s man strength in you.How refreshing!!I’m absolutlely mesmorized at your strength and bravery as a man,in your position to take on this basic need in our sociaity. When people who are paid, to do this pretend not to see the need. Also I might add the need for protection of our most precious members of our sociaity the seniors. I have a book inside me based all of the injustice I experienced takeing care of him. I just love watching you speak!Your words contain so much power, you give me goosebums just listening to you.I pray God blesses me with a husband like you and my father one day.Due to my DNA ,a man like you are required. Sensitive yet strong, like me.

I had a dream to begin my firm, but I did not have enough of cash to do this. Thank God my colleague advised to take the credit loans. Thence I took the bank loan and made real my desire.
